A plain-language walkthrough of the staking → yield → ONYX distribution loop. No jargon, no buzzwords, no charts that lie.

How the Onyx Flywheel Works

There is one economic loop. It has four steps. We will walk through each one.

Step 1 — Channel KLV into Attunement

You spend KLV at
/attunement
. The KLV does not vanish; it goes into the treasury wallet. You receive an attunement rank in the branch you chose. The rank is a multiplier on every yield event you participate in for that branch.

Higher rank costs more KLV per tick. The cost curve is documented in the contract source — there are no hidden ramps and no admin-discretion mults.

Step 2 — The treasury earns

The treasury holds KLV. KLV native staking returns a base annualized yield on chain — that's just how KleverChain works. The treasury also takes a small fixed cut of the casino shard's net house revenue. There is no third revenue source. We are explicit about this on purpose.

Treasury balance is public at
/treasury
. The balance updates every block.

Step 3 — Daily yield distribution

Once per day, at a fixed UTC hour, the yield orchestrator runs. It does three things:

Snapshots every wallet's current attunement ranks.

Computes each wallet's share of the day's yield pool, weighted by ranks and branch multipliers.

Streams ONYX to each wallet in a single batched on-chain transfer.

The orchestrator's exact distribution math is on chain — anyone can re-derive any wallet's payout from public data. We post the daily total in this blog and on Discord; we post the methodology here.

Step 4 — ONYX has a use

ONYX is not "the project token that does nothing." ONYX is required to:

Mint cosmetic rims for your shards.

Etch your name onto top-3 leaderboard slots.

Buy boost packs in shards that have them.

Pay the swap-back fee if you ever want to convert ONYX → KLV (there is one, and it sits in the contract).

If you don't want to spend it, you can hold it. Holding ONYX gives you a small additional multiplier on the next day's yield. There is a cap on this multiplier; we did not want a "stake forever for infinity" trap.

Why this is a flywheel and not a Ponzi

A Ponzi pays old participants with new participants' money. The Onyx flywheel pays participants with yield the treasury actually earned from on-chain staking and casino fees. If new participants stopped joining tomorrow, the treasury would still earn — slower, smaller, but real — and the daily distribution would still happen.

This is also why the cost curve in step 1 climbs steeply. We don't want anyone to be able to dominate the rank pool with a single large purchase. The curve is the brake.

The honest part

This is a young economy. The early daily yields will be small. The treasury needs to build for the steady-state to feel rewarding. We're not promising a rocket. We're promising a wheel.

Lore intro. How a single black stone was cut into seven shards, and what each one became.

Seven Shards, One Stone

In the elder telling, there was one stone. Polished obsidian, the size of a fist, kept on the high table of a city that has since fallen into the desert. The stone was called Onyx, and it was not magic — it was older than magic. Magic was just one of the things that came out of it.

When the city fell, the stone shattered into seven shards. Each shard kept a fragment of the old whole, and over centuries each fragment became a realm.

The Seven

Lightbringer. The shard that kept the morning. Auric gold. Penitents and zealots, ascension by light. Reach rank ten and you are Penitent. Reach rank one hundred and your name is read aloud at dawn.

Vault Casino. The shard that kept arithmetic. Sovereign green. House odds, fair wheels, on-chain randomness verified six ways. Most of the early ONYX flowed through here.

Shadow Realm. The shard that kept what could not be looked at directly. Umbral violet. Stealth, knives, the slow patient game. We argue about this one the most.

Aether Path. The shard that kept motion. Cyan stream. Pure movement — drift, glide, snake, weave. Reflex over strategy.

Forge Iron. The shard that kept making. Forged amber. Crafting, the only shard where the verbs are gather, refine, combine.

Glyph Mastery. The shard that kept naming things. Sigil lilac. Puzzles, ciphers, words. The slowest to reward and the deepest to study.

Neon Pulse. The shard that kept rhythm. Magenta. Beat, sync, perfect-time. If you can hear it, you can win it.

Why seven

Because the world had six and that wasn't enough. Because the table was round and the seventh seat was empty for a reason. Because the cut was clean, and seven is what came out of the cut.

Don't read too much into it. Or do — the lore is yours now.

What about the Onyx Core?

The eighth thing. Not a shard. The stone. Every wallet has a connection to it whether you've played the shards or not. Your Onyx Core rank is the sum of who you are across the seven. Reach rank ten in any branch and your Onyx Core rises. Reach rank one hundred in all seven and you become Apex Sovereign.

There is exactly one Apex Sovereign at a time. The seat is contested.

A short letter to the first sovereigns — what we're building, why, and where to put your hands today.

Welcome to Onyx·Realms

If you're reading this, the lockup loaded and the brand worked. Good. That means everything underneath it — the wallet pill, the attunement engine, the shard splash pages, the yield orchestrator — is wired up too.

This is the first page of a long log. We're going to build out loud, ship small, and write down what changes. Nothing here is a roadmap promise, and nothing here is marketing copy in disguise — we'll keep that on
/roadmap
and
/press
respectively. This is the work log.

What Onyx·Realms is, today

A constellation of small games — seven canonical shards plus a growing fringe — that share a single chain economy on KleverChain. You connect a wallet once. Every shard knows you. Every shard reads from the same attunement tree, the same leaderboard, the same ONYX token.

The hub is at
oasis-hub.pages.dev
. The seven shards have splash pages under
/realms/
. The flywheel lives in
/treasury
. The story lives in
/about
.

What you can do right now

Connect in the top-right pill. We support Klever Web Extension and any wallet that speaks the standard KleverChain RPC.

Attune at
/attunement
. Channel KLV into a branch. Branches gate yield multipliers and unlock cosmetic rims.

Play any shard. Every action that should matter on chain, does.

Read the leaderboard at
/leaderboard
. Top three slots have name etching that survives wipes.

What's next

We'll keep posting here as each Phase lands. The cadence is roughly weekly — sometimes faster when something big ships, sometimes slower when we're heads-down on infrastructure. Subscribe to the Atom feed at
/blog/feed.xml
if you'd rather not check.

Welcome in. Make it yours.
